Where Can I Serve?
God has given us all the command to serve Him (Rom. 12:1-2). Here at Haven of Grace, we recognize that we all have a part to play in meeting the needs of the church, young or old, seasoned or new. Here’s a sampling of some of the ways you can minister:
Making our meeting place feel like home takes a lot of teamwork! There are numerous jobs and needs to meet – greeting, breakfast, making coffee, setting up and tearing down. We’d love to make some memories with you while we serve the Lord together.
Music & Media
God-honoring, biblical worship is something we strive for. God has given wonderful abilities to many of His children musically and artistically. If you’d like to share a special song or musical talent with the family, we’d love to hear you! Opportunities are also available to help create multimedia and photos for the various digital outlets for our assembly.
5 – 5 – 5 Sharing Time
One thing we are able to offer as an assembly is daily encouragement to be in God’s Word, spending personal time ,growing with Him. As you do so, we’d love to hear about it. That’s why we’ve crafted a special time into every service, known as the “5-5-5” where we take 5 minutes to have 5 people share in 5 sentences or less a practical application or impact that God had in their lives during the course of the past week. This is always a wonderful and encouraging time. Won’t you prepare to share with us this week?
As a community of believers, we are deeply committed to the task that God has entrusted to us: to bear His image and light to the world around us, in both sharing and living out the Gospel. A new favorite method for us has been to participate in the annual Winter Garden Christmas parade. Many hands are needed to help us reach out – in fact, we’ve already begun the preparations for this year’s parade! Won’t you come and join us?
Bible Study and Classes
From our Bible hour to the Sunday sermon, we offer many opportunities to dive deeper into the riches of God’s Word. Our aim is to help all have a more clear understanding of the Bible and to help us each relate it practically into our daily living. God’s goal is to transform us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. Bible study offers us a tremendous avenue towards this goal. You can also join us on our Traveling Bible Studies, every other Friday, where our members open up their homes for fellowship and study.
Prayer is never to be underestimated. God instructs us time and time again throughout His Word to be in prayer, both individually and collectively as His children. We all need prayer warriors in our lives. You can have an integral part to play in the stories of others as you lift them before God’s Throne of Grace.
